One of the best things about traveling is experiencing amazing hotel properties. I get so many great design ideas from hotel properties. After all, hotels spend lots of money carefully curating a particular mood. Everything from the fragrance you smell upon arrival, to the lighting, the materials, the music, it all comes together so beautifully, Hotel selection can vary depending on the type of trip you're taking. If your trip entails lots of time away from the hotel, and you won't be enjoying the amenities, it makes sense to opt for a more economical property. If you're traveling far away, and will be coming off a long flight, you probably want to prioritize comfort, whatever that entails for you. For me, I look for unique properties with modern aesthetics that also capture the city I'm in. There are so many places on my travel wishlist, but here are a few hotel properties I've personally stayed at and find myself dreaming about going back to!

WHY I LOVE IT:
Amsterdam is one of my favorite cities in the world. My visit was part of a London, Brussels, and Amsterdam itinerary. It's a wonderful place for expats and prides itself on its diversity. The Pulitzer Amsterdam is so unique. It's modern design is both chic and comfortable, our daily breakfast was delicious and I loved how the light filters in through the windowed corridors. It gave off quirky-cool Wes Anderson vibes. When I go back to Amsterdam, I'll be staying at Pulitzer Amsterdam.
FROM THE HOTEL: Located across twenty-five golden age canal houses, each hotel room and luxury suite at Pulitzer Amsterdam is an individual celebration of Dutch history and craftsmanship, each differing in size, layout and view.
Meet quintessential Dutch elegance in an intricate maze of 25 connecting Golden Age canal houses. This hidden neighborhood features: intimate guest rooms, tranquil inner gardens, meeting & event spaces, a garden café, a hotel bar and a restaurant that serves simple yet beautifully crafted dishes. The Pulitzer is a unique blend of up-market, traditional and modern Dutch craftsmanship hidden amongst the city’s iconic canals.

WHY I LOVE IT: Staying at Le Roch feels more like a chic Parisian apartment than a standard hotel. The decor is modern luxury done perfectly, and the staff was incredible. They helped with dinner recommendations, reservations, and even helped with tickets to Roland Garros. The location is excellent with so many attractions within walking distance. I loved my stay at Le Roch Hotel and Spa.
FROM THE HOTEL: An iconic and discreet 5-star hotel, embodying Parisian chic, Le Roch Hotel & Spa is the ideal place to escape for a break in a private residence: a boutique hotel reinventing the codes of luxury, on a human scale, without excess or ostentation. We owe its design to the very Parisian decorator Sarah Lavoine. The wellness area offers you serenity and calm to relax by the pool bathed in natural light, stay in the best of your shape thanks to our fitness room equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, or escape to our hammam hidden behind a water veil. Enjoy a massage in the CODAGE Suite, which offers a facial and body care card. Le Roch restaurant offers an elegant and creative menu that comes to life thanks to our Executive Chef Remy Bererd. You will find in our menu a delicious answer to your culinary needs.

WHY I LOVE IT:
Playa Del Carmen is located between Cancun and Tulum, both literally and figuratively. If the idea of bohemian minimalism in Tulum makes you uncomfortable (often hotels have no television, wifi, or A/C), and the drunken mayhem of Cancun is not your vibe, Playa is the perfect happy medium. The hotel property is pretty incredible. It's the type of resort that you don't ever have to leave. Amazing food, spa, fitness center, and the pool is divine. The Grand Hyatt Playa Del Carmen is new, modern, and one of my favorite properties in Mexico.
FROM THE HOTEL: An oceanfront resort located on a privileged stretch of white sand, facing the turquoise waters of the Mexican Caribbean and surrounded by the energy and excitement of La Quinta Avenida - Fifth Avenue - , Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen brings guests to an intimate introduction of the Bohemian vibe of Playa del Carmen, or simply Playa, as it is locally known. With its spectacular architecture, unique outdoor dining concepts and our signature food and beverage author recipes, mixed with local flavors and fresh ingredients of the region for a memorable gastronomic experience. Located inside we find the Paseo, a large open air corridor that connects the entrance of the hotel all the way down to its iconic infinity pools, ending with its breathtaking white sanded beach and majestic turquoise waters for our guests to relax. Our two restaurants and bar are our own extension of the vibrant offerings of La Quinta Avenida.

WHY I LOVE IT: From the moment you step out of your airport transport, you're treated with the warmest Mexican hospitality, which usually includes a refreshing frozen margarita. I love Mexican culture and the people are what make this location so special. Literally anything you need, they will go out of their way to help you get it. The location is breathtaking, and every room is carefully structured to capture spectacular views. The interiors are muted and calming, the perfect backdrop for a relaxing stay. Several of the suites have private hot tubs on the balcony. The property is so amazing, you don't have to leave unless you want to! I've stayed here a few times, and would return to Esperanza in a heartbeat.
FROM THE HOTEL: Waves crash along the rocks, sending salty spray into air warmed by brilliant sunshine. This centuries-old rhythm helped shape Cabo's Punta Ballena coastline, named for its resemblance to a whale's tail. You'll feel at harmony with the vivid sensations of Baja California-and with the Esperanza family.

STARS: 4.5/5 WHY I LOVE IT: One of the newest properties in the Santa Ponsa neighborhood, the Kimpton Aysla is a modern tennis lovers dream. It's right across the street form the Mallorca Tennis Club, home of the Mallorca Championships, an ATP 250 grass tournament held annually in June. The food was amazing, the staff was incredible, and the proximity to the tennis event made it the perfect place to stay for attending. FROM THE HOTEL: Kimpton Aysla Mallorca is a modern sanctuary of calm and well-being in Santa Ponsa – Calvia just 14km from Palma. Nestled among lush native gardens imbued with Mallorcan light. A progressive take on wellness resort life, where active leisure meets utter relaxation, and touches of tradition blend with contemporary living. This is modern, relaxed luxury – Mallorca style. It’s an inspiring morning workout, a laid-back breakfast, and a replenishing smooth almond horchata with a twist. It’s a quick check of your socials, a plunge in the day's pool of choice, and a relaxed game of afternoon Tennis at Mallorca Country Club , maybe a round of golf at Golf Santa Ponsa, escape to the beach or take a quick hike. As the sun sets, it’s a balmy evening spent on the terrace with fine organic wine, great food, and sparkling conversation. This is the good life and it’s as good as it gets!
I hope sharing my favorite hotel properties inspires the adventurer in you! I'm always on the lookout for new and exciting hotels and resorts to visit. If you have a favorite hotel property, I'd love to know!
